Feel confident and prepared going into your shoot!
What can I expect at my photo session?
Expect to laugh, run, play, be silly and to have a great time! One of my strengths is to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable. This allows us to get past the nervous jitters quickly and really get to the essence of what we want to capture during the session. Often this comes through candid moments and fun experiences during our session.
What should we wear?
Most importantly, wear what makes you feel good! Try to avoid everyone wearing the same thing. Instead try choosing 1-2 colors and coordinate within that color scheme. For example: Child wears a blue dress, mom wears a white shirt with a blue scarf, & dad wears a blue jacket or shirt. Pinterest has a lot of helpful ideas and I am happy to give pointers or advice if you have your own ideas- just ask!
Where will our photo session take place?
I have several favorite locations where I like to shoot in and around Central Vermont- primarily in Plainfield. I am open to creative ideas or requests as long as it is within the Central Vermont vicinity. Open to sweet cozy in home sessions too if that fits your style. Willing to travel to you outside of the Montpelier area for an additional fee of 50 cents per mile.
What should we bring?
I typically bring a blanket incase you don’t want to sit on the ground- but feel welcomed to bring your own to fit your own style. If you have a creative idea that might involve props or extras (pets, cars, etc.) feel free to let me know ahead of time and we can see if we can make your idea come to life.
For Senior Portrait sessions: Bring a few outfits to change into. Bring whatever might represent you! Do you have a hobby? Do you play a sport? Do you love to travel? This session is about what makes you unique and what makes you happy, so bring it along!
How do I prepare small children?
Let them wear comfortable clothes and footwear. Bring snacks. Talk to them ahead of time about what it will be like, how much fun they will have, and what they can expect! Most importantly let them have fun! Let them laugh, play, dance, be silly, have grumpy moments, and run around. Don’t stress about their behavior and trust that I will know how to prompt them. This is about making memories with them and having fun- leave the rest to me!
