Experience
Working with Isabel
Photography has always been a part of my life, and now my photos become a part of yours.
In middle school and high school, I was always the friend who had a camera. I documented sleepovers, proms, high school theater productions, makeover photoshoots with best friends, school trips, etc. My camera was always with me. As I grew, I became especially interested in nature photography, desperately trying to capture the beauty of the natural world we live in.
In my mid-20s, I was introduced to an incredibly gifted and talented Wedding Photographer, Christopher David, and worked as his assistant and second shooter for nearly 10 years. He was a wonderful mentor and taught me all that I know about composition, style, and editing skills.
Soon after the COVID pandemic, I made the decision to start my own photography business and pursue my passion for portrait work. I have a diverse portfolio including: Weddings, Couples, Engagement, Senior Portraits, Families, Maternity & Newborn & Headshots.
Although I don't really have a specialty, I have a special passion working with high school seniors in their senior portrait sessions.

FAQ
What can i expect at my photo session?
Expect to laugh, run, play, be silly and to have a great time! One of my strengths is to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable. This allows us to get past the nervous jitters quickly and really get to the essence of what we want to capture during the session. Often this comes through candid moments and fun experiences during our session.

What do i wear to my photo session?

Most importantly, wear what makes you feel good! Try to avoid everyone wearing the same thing. Instead try choosing 1-2 colors and coordinate within that color scheme. For example: Child wears a blue dress, mom wears a white shirt with a blue scarf, & dad wears a blue jacket or shirt. Neutral color pallets always photograph well. Pinterest has a lot of helpful ideas and I am happy to give pointers or advice if you have your own ideas- just ask!

where will our photo session take place?

I have several favorite locations where I like to shoot in and around Central Vermont- primarily in Plainfield. I am open to creative ideas or requests as long as it is within the Central Vermont vicinity. Open to sweet cozy in home sessions too if that fits your style. Willing to travel to you outside of the Montpelier area for an additional fee of 50 cents per mile.

what should we bring?

I typically bring a blanket incase you don’t want to sit on the ground- but feel welcomed to bring your own to fit your own style. If you have a creative idea that might involve props or extras (pets, cars, etc.) feel free to let me know ahead of time and we can see if we can make your idea come to life.
For Senior Portrait sessions: Bring a few outfits to change into. Bring whatever might represent you! Do you have a hobby? Do you play a sport? Do you love to travel? This session is about what makes you unique and what makes you happy, so bring it along!
